Horse deaths via equine influenza?

Question

Do you know of any well known horses who have died from equine influenza? Perferably Australian horses? I've tried google and similar things and can't find anything.

my friend had her 34 years old pony put down after she contracted it. but no deaths of otherwise healthy horses.
