  1. keep his show name for sure.

call him day at the barn

  2. I'm not sure what the question is here.  The reason he is a l;isted as a chestnut is becuase thoroughbreds only come in 5 colors (as per Jockey Club rules) they are

    Chestnut

    Bay

    Dark Bay or Brown

    Roan

    Grey

They used to register Black horses, But they did away with that designation.  I think Christopher R. was the last registered black of any note.

  3. I think "Biggie" would really suit him! [considering hes TB and most likely large AND because of his registered name "Big Day" AND because he will soon be jumping BIG fences, get it? lol] Also REALLY cute names are: Dayton [hey another relative one] , Cruise [my chestnut QH/TB ]----Hope that helps!

  4. I wouldn't do anything to my horse that I wouldn't want him to do to me. I don't kick my horse...he doesn't kick me. I don't bite my horse....he doesn't bite me. DO NOT change his name...he wouldn't change yours! At that age he should respond to his name. He'll be clueless that you're talking to him, instucting him or calling him if you change his name. He can surely learn a new name....You just have to decide whether it's worth the effort.

  5. yeah some people say it is bad luck to change a horse's name.  But i think that may only be his barn name.  What are the horse's papers? the dam and sire and any other names you know.

  6. Please resubmit with  Dam and Sire names and also his stable name.  We have had plenty that we have changed their names.  Nipper who didn't bite was one!haha

  7. you should keep his name that he already has
