False, though it is nice for a horse to have as much access to water as possible and the water should be fresh and clean, it is not possible for a horse to have access whenever they want it.  When you are riding for example...also, leading up to surgery water access will be limited or removed and often thoroughbred race horses will have water access restricted before a major race.  As to the myth that you should not allow a hot horse to drink....that is false as well, allow a hot horse to drink all the water he wants it will aid him in cooling his internal body temperature.

True. They should always have clean water. They should always have as much as they want, and it should be refilled-cleaned everyday. Just like any other animal, they need access to water 24/7

They need fresh, clean water 24/7. It should also not be hot, just like people they don't like to drink hot water.

if the water is not cleaned regularly they can get worms/ parasites.

P.S.- i use and old bath tube with plugs for a water trough, it works great. I clean it every day or every other day and i have 2 horses drinking from it. I just dump it, spray it out and refill.

Yes it is true.  If they are drinking from buckets in the stable the water has to be changed every morning as water absorbs ammonia - which comes off the urine.

The buckets also need to be scrubbed - as do automatic waterers really - as after a few days an almost invisible slime builds up which could contain bacteria.

Horses need to be hydrated - it is very important to them.
