Horsfield tortoise baths ?

i have two 2year old horsfields both girls there settling in well my question is i cannot put water on my table as they drag the substrate into it also they poo init and im worried theyl drink it and get ill ,would daily baths be to much or every other day as im worried they wont get enough water help ?

  1. They should be put in water every other day or every two days at that age.  Also, they normally drink water before they release their stuff, so don't worry about that.  If the water gets dirty, take them out quickly.  

    Also, I wouldn't leave water in their house because of the mess they'll make.  When you put them in water, let them walk around for a bit or get a napkin or something to dry them off. That way the substrate won't stick to them.


  2. luke warm water baths every other day would be ideal.you would probabily also see them drinking .They do get most of their water from the weeds and veg you should be feeding them but supply a shallow water dish anyway.Lets face it ,its no real hardship to change the water a couple of times a day is it??.good luck.
