hi

if i want to book the hotels near to the train station in both cities.. is it very far from the town?

any budget hotel in venice to recommend? as those i saw in venere.com its quite pricely

look at this link for Venice Hotels, and San marco and marco polo area is more close to santa lusia train station. if you feel main land , venice hotels are expensive, select a hotel from Mestre train station. it is half price than main island hotels, but very easy acess through trains

You may want to consider renting from an owner instead of staying in a pricy hotel. That way you have self catering accommodations. There are some vacation rentals on this site.

I don't know what you consider pricey, but I stayed in two very nice small hotels in Venice and Rome that are very close to the train stations:

Both hotels are very highly rated on TripAdvisor.
