Question:

Hotels in Minneapolis?

My husband and I are going to Minneapolis for a week's vacation and plan on seeing as much as we can: museums, Mall of America, zoo, etc. What is the best area to stay in that will be relatively close to everything? We want to be in a safe area but don't need anything too fancy since we won't be in the hotel often. Also, what is the best way to get around (car, light rail, bus)?

  1. Stay in White Bear Lake.  Call Comfort Inns for a reservation.  Very often there are lots of "doings" in the Twin Cities and all the motels and hotels are booked solid.  Better call TODAY !!!

  2. It depends on what you want to do, but the light rail will get you to most places.  Otherwise you might want to get a rental car.

Check for hotels on hotwire.com if you don't really mind where you stay specifically and are looking for a specific price range.  One of my friends spent a long weekend w/ her fiance at the Graves 601 hotel downtown.  It's very cosmopolitan, right in the middle of things, but a bit pricey.
