How Come I go Into Boardslide?

When I hit a box snowboarding i will go on 50-50 and then i will turn into a boardslide when i do not want to. How Come that is?

It probably has to do with your upper torso.  Try not to turn it as much.  When you start rotations in the air and on rails or boxes, it's your upper body that controls your spin.  Your lower body (legs) naturally want to follow the upper, especially if you commit to it.

As fellow snowboarders, we are defined by our standing sideways on one plank instead of two, and our mad steeze while doing so.  Now, aside from any other board sport, the average person doesn't exactly spend their life standing sideways and moving.  So naturally, our bodies want to straighten out forward especially on the slippery surface of a box top.

So fight the urge to do so.  When you're on the top, try not to whip your head around as much and to keep your shoulders in place.

As for not being balanced, I would think if he's set too far back, he'd go into a tail press or nose press if he's too far in front.  And I doubt he can stick it (no offense), so he would probably toss himself off before he can rotate into a boardslide.

Anyways, you could still try centering yourself better.  Take it slow until you get it.  No need to go fast when you're first starting.  Going slow will give you more time to correct yourself and get a feel for what it's like on a box, and what you may be doing wrong.  Just make sure you stay flat and attack it as straight as possible.

your weight isn't balanced correctly. the back of your board is goin faster on the rail than the front and your board is starting to spin.

Ok, So the first 2 guys have absolutely no idea.

This is what you need to know: Your board turns to wherever your body is facing, So they are parallel. When you go on the box, Just relax. Look forward by turning only your head, not your entire body.

Stay parallel. And more importantly, get more speed. Attaining balance on a rail or box is much harder while moving slow.

When you get onto a box for a 50-50, you will usually get on straight, so if yor not doing that try that next time. If your still slideing into a boardslide, try moving your weight to the opposite side. so if you going into a backside boardslide, get on and shift your weight more the the front, and the other way around. If that still isn't working try just a small jump on the rail to get your board back to the right position, it's not hard at all and you should be able to get it by then... and always lots of practice wil help you to. I don't know if this help but I tried...
