  1. technically you only need enough to have a positive nitrogen balance in the body.  for most this is accomplished by consuming 1 gram of protein per every lb of lean body mass not total bodyweight.  the body composition has to be taken into account when designing a proper diet.  a 200 lb man with 30% body fat should not follow the same diet as another 200 lb man with 10% body fat.  the level of body fat that a person has is a direct indicator of their bodies current ability to utilize nutrients efficiently.

    Edit:

lean body mass or fat free muscle mass.

    * say a person has a total bodyweight of 150 lbs with a body fat % of 15%.

    150 x .15 = 22.5 lbs of fat

    150 - 22.5 = 127 lbs of non-fat or muscle mass

so that person would want to consume the minimum of 127 grams of protein daily but they surely could consume much more.  basically the more active a person is the greater the amount of muscle protein turnover there is and the more protein their bodies needs and can utilize.

  2. Iv consultant is 100% right i read that somewhere and pple with higher bodyfat caant lose ithat fatcuz of this eating too much protein

  3. That's a good measure that most people go by. I weigh 170 and because my workouts are intense and my diet is right on the money, I shoot for just at 300 grams a day...that's still not out of range for me...and it works well for me..

  4. yes with that range is excellent if ur looking to build muscle mass so i see just keep doin what your doin

  5. Approx 1g of protein per 1lb of lean body mass.

You have roughly 104lb of lean body mass, so I'd up that to 110g of protein a day.
