I'm going to 5th grade and I know I'm not to a good start. When I met the teacher today, she just shook my hand and that was all. I was about the shortest person in the class. And I'm afraid! I'm afraid I won't make any friends, I'm afraid that the teacher won't like me. What should I do?

  1. Just relax

  2. Aww don't worry. Just be a good student. Volunteer, do your homework, join a club or sport. Honors student always makes a good impression! Let me tell you... I changed schools when I entered 6th grade... i've always been the smallest, in college... still tiny...

Anyways I studied real hard at the beginning because I didnt have friends, nothing better to do and was confused just like you. Then I got involved in spelling bees and "nerdy" competitions, because I could... I made a handful of friends.

Join a sport... you have to work as a TEAM to beat the rivals! I became a cheerleader and played basketball (even though I was no good) but you try and your small and cute...

Just be yourself soon enough you'll realize it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of you (teachers etc.) because you'll be happy with everything you accomplished and all the friends you made on the way (some are probably in the same boat as you)

  3. haha the teacher doesn't have to like you. they're your TEACHER, not your friend. just relax and take it as it comes, fifth grade is easy.

  4. Just calm down a bit, relax!

    That's the number one turn-off - no self-confidence.

Just be nice and outgoing, it doesn't matter how tall or short you are. If you do your work and are polite, the teacher will like you, trust me.
