If my cat wants to get away it is a real problem holding her. For such a small animal they are very strong. This generally happening when she wants to get down from my lap after some time. First she growls and then violently wags her tail. It pizzes her off a great deal if I hold her tail to prevent her wagging it. Then growls turn into meow scratch bite. Let her go in the end and would never hurt her but she needs to know I am the boss not her

  1. ALL YOU ARE DOING IS AGGRAVATING HER!

You are not teaching her you are boss.... after all CATS are royalty... we are here to serve and protect!

You are going to end up with a cat that is mean... I suggest you stop doing this kind of thing.  Find another way to show "you" are boss (which you aren't when it comes to cats!)

  2. That's a cat, not a dog. What you're doing may make sense to a dog but to a cat, it's just wrong. Cats don't have a "follow the leader" mentality.

  3. show it who's boss! give it a glasgow kiss

  4. i'm guessing this is your first cat? never grab a cats tail! grabbing onto her tail is just aggravating her, i'm not surprised she's lashing out at you. would you like it if you wanted to move and someone grabbed your hair so you couldn't. cats aren't like dogs you can't stop her doing things, cats are terribly independent and don't have bosses. if you carry on doing this you will end up ruining your relationship with her, you need to let her do things at her own time (trust me you'll get more affection off her this way and she will be much happier!). there is no way to show a cat you are the boss of them, it's impossible! good luck x x

  5. Cats are strong because they have pretty good mucles in their legs for running and finding prey.  You should play with your cat to help her develop the muscles and stay active.

Don't grab the cat's tail.  That is something a 3 year old would do, of course it will anger the cat.

  6. oh my god that is wrong in so many ways...

You don't own cats, they own you! And by holding her tail you are just being cruel! If your boss at work held on to your "tail" would it make you accept him as your superior or think that he is a pervert and that you hate him!!!???

  7. Cat's don't have bosses. Period. They are the rulers of their own world, no one can change that.

Yea cats are pretty strong, cause they descended from big predatory cats.

course it would p**s her off if you held her tail, that's like someone holding your arm when you are trying to swat a mosquito off your face lol

  8. YOU ARE NEVER THE BOSS OF A CAT----NEVER!

CATS ARE STRONG BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLE GRAB THEIR TAILS... SHAME ON YOU.

ONE OF MY CATS GOT RUN OVER MANAGED TO WALK 1/4 OF A MILE HOME BE FOR COLLAPSING ON MY DOOR STEP, TOUGH OR WHAT.  AFTER SOMETIME OF RECOVERY SHE WALKS OK EVEN THOUGH HER PELVIS IS SMASHED AND HER LEGS ARE NOT ATTACHED. THE VET SAID IT PROBABLY BEEN COMPENSATED BY MUSCLE GROWTH.
