How are my poems?

They're to accompany news articles, for a SS assignment. Are these good for a 14 year old? I still need to revise a bit.

For an article about people rummaging through the debris from the earthquake in China:

Days of bliss

Each passed by

Stare at stars

Or sun in sky

Now all the relics

Of all once dear

A misty gaze

Whisper to ear

Depend on what’s

Now out of sight

All remains

Of a dusk filled night

Are flimsy remnants

Memory flits

The dusty film

Stagnant, sits

Sifting through

Hopeless remains

Struggle to recall

A thought ingrains

A flickering

Amongst the abyss

Only to vanish

A soul amiss

For an article about troops dying in Iraq:

Debates singe

The media rooms

Stay or go?

Controversy blooms

Bickering suits

Pixels on a screen

Glancing over what

Begs to be seen

Broken hearts shatter

At each knock of the door

Waiting for the uniform

News that seems too sure

One year, then two

One hundred now

Poem continued -->

  1. 14 year old?

these are beautiful for someone so young. keep writing these. the storytelling of each of these flows so easily. the rhyme scheme is absolutely perfect.

great job, if this is for school, the teacher would be an idiot to give you any less than an A+
