How big is a cubic ounce?

I am looking to buy herbs. They sell them in a one ounce bag. is there something i can compare it to before i buy the herbs to know im not getting short changed.

  1. The "ounce" that herbs are sold in are weight ounces; not volume ounces.  Just use the scale at the grocery store and weigh it out.

    Besides, what you are referring to is a cubic centimeter, there is no such thing as a cubic ounce.  A cubic centimeter is a unit of volume.  Herbs, produce, dry goods, etc. are sold by weight, not volume.

    A lot of people get fluid ounces and weight ounces confused.  They are not interchangeable.  For example, a cup of lead pellets and a cup of feathers both occupy 8 fluid ounces of volume.  Neither one will WEIGH 8 ounces.

    no such thing as a cubic ounce.  Ounce is a measure of weight or more correctly mass.  To know you aren't getting short changed how about weighing it.  By the way an ounce is a little more than 28 grams so if you have a grams scale you're good to go.
