How big is this gene?

Our professor asked us to look at this site and i don't have any idea how to interpret the information that appear in this page.

The professor asked how big is that gene?

And how big is the coding region?

i have ideas but i'm just not sure if they're correct. Help would be much appreciated.

To figure out the size of the gene, look at the gene diagram under the heading of "Genomic regions, transcripts, and products" on the page.  There are two numbers, one on either side of the diagram.  Subtract the left one from the right one, and there you go.  The answer will be in number of basepairs (bp).

As for the coding region, in that same diagram, the coding region appears in red, while the untranslated portion appears in blue.  Click on the link for "Try our new Sequence Viewer," hover your mouse over the red boxes, and the size of the coding region is the mRNA product length (in bp).
