How can I convince my parents?

How do I convince my parents that studying overseas is a good idea and opportunity for me? I want to do it so bad, but how do i explain it to them?

This is the same problem I have. I am a semi-finalists for CBYX and if I get it, I may not be able to go because they don't want me gone for 11 months. -______-

Make a big chart, pros and cons. List the rules of the program you are doing. Tell them about the culture, and show them that you are working on the language.

Tell them the good things of going overseas, inbetween, tell them SOME of the bad things. Let them feel a tinge that they are right. but at the same time state your thoughts about it and just tell them in a nice way. NEVER get into a fight or quarrel. It almost NEVER works out that way. I wish you good luck in your studies!
