Question:

How can I gain Leadership experience?

I really want to get some leadership experience, but I seem to be struggling to get! I don't want to go abroad (i.e. sports coaching, volunteering) and I don't want to spend to much cash £2000 tops! I had originally had the opportunity to do some camp america/camp Uk stuff- but due to finances and dissatisfaction with the contract I let it go- I'm regretting doing so now- as I just can't seem to find that perfect opportunity- plus I'm not quite sure where to look- I'm hoping to do it this summer? Anyone have any ideas/ knowledge/ previous experience or useful websites?

Mucho Thanks

  1. If you want to get a real leadership course and five years spare, then enroll in a Martial Arts club, when you reach the highest belt you are entitled to a Leadership Course which allows you to run your own club.

Also, The Army does similar leadership courses but it's full time.

  2. Leadership abilities is really by experience and volunteering is a great way to learn. Getting involved in your local community is a great way to start cultivating leadership abilities.

    Good luck to you.
