Question:

How can I ship clothes cheaply?

I am moving and need to ship a lot of clothes to another state. I actually must be out of my apartment tomorrow and so I must ship the clothes as they will not fit in my car.

I shipped an 18x20x20 box of clothes today from the USPS, the post office, and it cost 35 dollars. Does anyone have an ideas on how to ship cheaper.

I do not care when they arrive at the destination. I know that the box i am using is large, but it was sold in the shipping materials section of Staples, so I figured it would be a common size. Thanks in advance for any replies

  1. Often the cheapest way to ship things like that is by bus, so if there is a bus station in your area that might be a good option.  Often people don't realize that you can ship things by Greyhound and other bus lines.

  2. Shipping by sea is the cheapest and slowest

I just shipped a 4.5 kg box from Australia to London and it cost me $75 with insurance covering $800 to give you an idea

    Air mail basically costs double

You didnt really state where your moving from and to...

Look around for a cheap courier service if the move is drivable
