How can i shrink dvd when ?

Well i have a mac computer and i downloaded a program called mactheripper, when i get an R+ emty dvd it says that the file is too big to copy from this dvd, is there a way to ignore that or shrink the memory, please help me really badly, i really need this ASAP.
