  1. start with you're school that you are supposed to be attending and let them know that you want to be home schooled.

  2. The letter of intent is sent to your district office. Then you will need to join a cyber school or file a private school affidavit if you intend to homeschool privately.

  3. There is no letter of intent.

DO NOT contact your school and tell them you want to start home schooling.

You only need to download a simple form called a Private School Affidavit (PSA).  Then you fill it out, naming your school and providing your school's address (your home), and mail it in.  Once it leaves your hands, you officially become a private school, which is what home schoolers are in this state.

Then your parent(s) can go to your school and request your records to be sent to the new school - at which time they provide them with your new school's address.  There is no need discuss with them in with your intent to home school.  Some people who work for schools take it upon themselves to judge your decision and send out truancy officers (which will be shot down once you provide them with a copy of your PSA), but that will just cause unnecessary worry.

HEre are more details to answer your question - I've posted an answer to one of your other questions:

Contact HSC - find your local county contact.  They will help you with all your questions, even be able to guide you through the filing of that simple form.

  4. Hi!! For California, all you have to do is turn in a letter of intent. This is not hard, you pretty much have to tell the state you are being home schooled. Where you place this letter of intent depends on what part of California you live. I am sure that it is not hard to find out, though. For the curriculum....it varies. I STRONGLY recommend getting it off of the internet, whether directly from the publishing warehouse, or from Ebay, it doesn't matter. (though Ebay has GREAT deals.) I hope this information helped you out. Feel free to contact me :)
