  1. Recycling will help.

  2. Climate change is a natural event to a degree, and whether or not you think man has a hand in it, it isn't going to stop.

If you do believe that man has influenced the climate, all we can do is attempt to slow down the rate of change; it can't be reversed.  But slowing the change is too difficult to do as the developing countries contibute more and more greenhouse gasses, while the developed counties don't do enough to reduce their emmisions.

I am green (fuel my car with vegetable oil, don't waste food, recycle all I can, use low energy products) because it saves me money to do so, not because I will save the planet.

My advice; don't live near the sea.

  3. We can't and anyone that says we can is deluding themselves or lying.

I am a great recycler I don't waste electricity and I don't make unnecessary journeys. That is common sense. I have always done it.

The YA member is so right..........why can't people see that.

We may not be helping but there are greater forces at work here than our pathetic little existence.

  4. as soon as it starts, we will start working on the problem

  5. Learn to live a simpler life - you might find you are happier for it too.  Give up your car, work from home, grow your own veggies, invest in your local wind farm, don't buy over packaged c**p.  Lots you can do and it will all help.

BTW, global warming won't just mean warmer weather, it will be unpredictable weather (crazy flooding, storms, etc.)

  6. We can't.  The Sun is the cause of global warming.

We should enjoy the warm climate while it's here.  The cold is far harsher on life.

  7. There are so many ways to help prevent Global Warming!!! One way, turn off the lights when you are not using them. Two, cut down much less trees. Three, don't drive your own car very often, take a bus, ride a bike, or even walk. Also, make sure you turn off the water when you are not using it.

  8. make everyone stop eating pigs .because their p**p is really bad for our environment and tears our world up ....stop driving gas cars go electric....try not to waste paper .because they keep cutting down the trees that help us  breath  and keep us alive!!!!

  9. Today here is what we know:  many of mankind’s advancements cause earth surface to warm, destroy the ozone layer, kill off endanger species, heat cities, and in some way cause more destruction.  Blacktop (roads and parking lots), buildings, air pollution (causes lung and other diseases), deforestation, duststorms (which increase hurricanes and cyclones and cause lung diseases), fires (cause pollution, mud slides, and deforestation), refrigerants (like CFC's), solvents (including benzene destroy the ozone layer raising skin cancer rates) and plastics; cars, airplanes, ships and most electricity production (causes pollution including raised CO2 levels) are human problems we need to fix to keep life on earth sustainable! The federal government needs to adopt a pollution surcharge to balance the field and advance new technologies. We must pay the real price of oil (petrochemicals) including global warming, cleanup and for health effects. But with that we must understand we have never seen what is now happening before. CO2 has never lead to temperature change, but temperature change has led to increases in CO2. The models have to be made as we go along with little evidence! The result is:  change is on the way, we just do not know what changes. But again adding a small amount of CO2 to the atmosphere enlarges the earths sun collection causing warming; increase water in the atmosphere and they form clouds cooling earth but causing flooding. Even natural events are warming earth and causing destruction. The sun has an increased magnetic field causing increases in earthquakes (more destruction), volcanoes (wow, great destruction), and sun spots. Lighting produces ozone near the surface (raising air pollution levels). But humans have destroyed half of the wetlands, cut down nearly half of the rain forest, and advance on the earths grasslands while advancing desertification which increases duststorms. The USA Mayor's have taken a stand and I believe are on the right track, we can have control and can have economic growth. With the peak of oil in the 1970’s, the peak of ocean fishing in the 1980’s, humans must stop procrastinating and make real changes to keep earth sustainable including in the energy debate, finance and regulation. The sun is available to produce energy, bring light to buildings and makes most of human’s fresh water. Composting is the answer to desertification. New dams are the answer to fresh water storage, energy and cooling earth by evaporation, we need many small one all over (California needs 100 by 2012 and has not even started).

President Bush has made a choice of energy (ethanol) over food and feeding the starving people around the world; this is a choice China has rejected.

Live the best life you can. Learn al you can. Recycle. Enjoy. Be at peace as that is cool. Plan plants. Burn less. Love more. Have fun

  10. The whole 'Global warming' thing is a theory not a fact. It is not proven that it is happening and it is also not proven that humans are the main cause of it. I personally don't believe that global warming is happening. I do however believe in 'green living' to an extent. It makes sense to conserve energy, and we are only wasting our money by wasting energy. Unfortunately we cant trust the government on this one as they will either use 'climate change' as an excuse to introduce more taxes or they wont do anything about it as they will loose out on tax money.

  11. More trees and less factories

  12. plant more trees.

    carpool.

dont drive as much, and recycling has absolutely nothing to do with global warming....if you thought it did.

  13. Stopping global warming, well it's inevitable but there are ways of slowing it down. But that is only what we can do, prolong the inevitable. Seems bleak I know, but at this stage, we got our work cut out for us. Believe it or not, some efforts on green may be actually harming like hybrids being the materials and the way it's produced (mainly the batteries).

  14. more nuclear power points bad waste but stops global warming

  15. We can't, only nature can.

When are people going to stop swallowing the political b/s?

Global warming is a cyclic, natural phenomenon. The planet is still emerging from the last ice-age.

  16. Simple answer???? You can't.

It is impossible to stop something that is natural which is what global warming is. No amount of recycling, using cleaner fuel etc will change it.

Heat from the sun, heat from within our own planet are part of the warming process. We are also at the very end of the last Ice age, volcanoes spew more Co2 gas into the atmosphere that we ever will. I guess the government cant tax volcanoes so tax us instead. There is no law saying you have to recycle anything so why are we? So many people on the global warming bandwagon im suprised its still rolling. Global warming actually caused the last Ice Age, all this data the boffins get are only from the last 150-200 years or so... thats nothing in geographical terms.

I have answered similar questions on here before and I say pretty much the same thing each time.

    Some pointers....

1 Jump off the bandwagon, accept the Earth is heating up.

2 There is nothing you or anyone else can do about it.

3 Quit recycling as its pointless.

    4 Stop worrying.

  17. we cant stop global warming the planet has always got hot and cold. whatever we do living on it wont make any difference to what happens just accelerate the situation.

Anyone who thinks we can save the planet must be living on another one. What do you think the dinosaurs done wrong to cause the ice age did they smoke too much?

  18. you cant do anything because its not happening! politicians have just blown it all out of proportion. if you don't believe me how do you explain the fact that over 4000 of the worlds top scientists have signed a petition denouncing claims of global warming!

  19. We can't stop global warming because it's already started and is happening now.

But what we can do is lessen the harm it will cause, and be more prepared for when the effects start hitting us really hard. Which is pollute less and recycle and all that environmentally friendly stuff.
