  1. The Monroe Doctrine freed all of N. & S. America.  The 5th of May is when the French were told to leave by America.  They took advantage of the our Civil War and conquered Mexico.  When it was over we told the French to leave.  Yes the Mexicans did fight the French but only after the American were able to back them.  The Mexicans celebrate Independence from Spain not France.

The question was HOW not WHEN.

  2. By "illegally" crossing the border!

  3. Mexico had a tough time selling the idea of a nation to their people. The first President named his son Cuahtemoc and basically told people they are all Mexicans, be they Indios or European. A huge problem for many years for Mexico was its Indio population which their political parties dubbed as "useless" people. Luckilly these people living in backwards poverty immigrated to the United States thus greatly alleviating Mexico of its problem population and furthermore, sent back billions of dollars and remained loyal to a country that was praying and hoping they would just go away.
