  1. Rosetta Stone

  2. For years the Hebrew language was strictly used as a liturgical (religious) language.  The people used other vernacular languages instead of Hebrew, like Yiddish.

The Modern Hebrew language was revived as a spoken language during the 19th and 20th centuries.  Centuries prior the Hebrew language had NO native speakers.  Today, millions of people speak it as a native language in places like Israel.

  3. Many Hebrew never left Israel, but they were kept in isolation by whatever government controlled the region. Through their practices of their faith, they never lost the original language.

  4. Just as the Arab did. Is a language very related with their religion and the practice of their religion had been the best way to keep the language, the same thing happened with latin. When it was used in churches, the Latin was well spoken for many people, but when churches started to used the languages of the respective countries then there was no need to keep it.
