Earth day had passed, should it not be earth day every day?

In any case, how did you celebrate it? Did you celebrate it as a company - with company sponsored activities? Or did you have your own individual activity?

  1. Everyday is Earth Day in our house!  On Earth Day I made a tree out of poster board and my daughter (she is four) cut out leaf shapes.  Then I wrote down the different things that we all as a family already do, and plan to implement in the coming year to help the environment.  Now it is hanging up in our home office so it serves as a reminder everyday of our commitment as a family to change our lifestyle and reduce our footprint.

I got the idea from the crafts page on - I think it was Nick Jr's website.  It was something to do with Dora the Explorer.

  2. I looked at the lush green grass and moss and trees blowing in the wind and all the plants coming up and wild rabbits and birds and wished we had more open spaces like we used to instead of all that disappearing so fast.

I didn't drive my car, and spent the day planting things and building habitats for wildlife in my yard.

    thanks.

  3. i littered

  4. i was aloooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne in the dark(since i turned of the power)

    :)

  5. i had no idea there was an earth day !! =S they should advertise more, or i should watch more TV

  6. i cleaned up some bottles, then fed some geese, then got completely hammered just because it was another day of the week

  7. Everyday should be Earthday. I am very cautious in throwing away something to trash. I make it a point that what I throw away goes to recycling, such as proper segration of trash, everytime I collect few boxes of empty plastic containers I give it away to my neighbor who will then sell it for a few bucks, its my way of returning the favor since she sweeps fallen leaves in my frontyard. We have a compost pit for leftover foods, biodegradable materials etc.

I registered for electronic billings for my credit cards, cellphone and utility bills. I think I can help save few trees in one year. I save something for the post office as well.

I have laundry bin in my bathroom to save the water used for bathing. I use it for flushing the toilet, washing floor and rags. I save electricity and avoid increase in electric bills. Well its a domino effect. We are all connected and I think saving mother earth will really help us a lot in terms of lengthening human existence.

  8. Our club encouraged our school to recycle. We got our local tree planting volunteers to encourage people to volunteer and plant trees! Ah, planting trees feels so good...

We had taste test proving that food from local family farms taste better than conventional farms.

We had a human board game with questions to quiz people with, like "True or false, A San Jose State University student was what started Earth Day!" True!

We had a bike to school day, and gave free stuff to bicyclists that day.

We had raffles and giveaways like organic t-shirts and more!

  9. I ate a pound of Kobe beef and got all pretty for dinner,  paying special attention to use aerosol hairspray... and a lot of it.

then I cut down a few trees and left my lights, air condition and water on all day long...

  10. I'm part of the eco-club at my school. We went to one of most popular parks in the city where there was being a whole day dedicated earth day. My school passed out little plants and seeds and fliers of information. People loved our plants that we handed out! We did do a bit of cleaning too. For the whole school year my eco-club has cleaned, recycled, and did test to see if our water was clean. We have informed our school on the best way to grocery shop that is eco friendly and the eco-club went on a weekend trip so we can learn more about preserving the earth.
