I believe that the minerals and impurites are distilled (boiled and the steam captured), or removed by other impurity removing processes, out of distilled water.

Distilled water made by desalination plants taste not good as it dont have minerals,air etc.

So 10%well water is blended with it before made it drinkable with chlorine to kill bacteria.
