Question:

How do I avoid soda?

I've tried giving up soda for the summer because it's so bad for you. This is, however, proving to be very difficult as it's one of my favourite sweets and drinks. Right now we've got two full cases of Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper sitting in our fridge and I've got a mad craving for it. How can I punch out this temptation?

  1. I have had the same experience, but with giving up fruit juice for the high sugar/calorie content. I find it's easier to fight the temptation when I have something sweet but sugar free prepared from ahead of time in the fridge, like Crystal Light or diet iced tea.

  2. omg i have the same problem as well. it is horrible for you i know. but what my mother did to calm my desprate cravings for a can of coke is she would \

    1) hide them from me

    2) not buy them at all.

    3) substituted soda with water.

    4) crystal light was a hit <3333

now i don't even drink soda... i personally would go with just don't buy soda at all :) it helped me. GOOD LUCK <3

  3. I went with tava for a week then cut back to flavored energy waters like snapples and aquafina. That cut back my sugar intake drastically. Then when I went to have soda it was too sweet and it needed watered down. So try drinking milk and different waters and gatoraide for a week and believe me you'll get the craving after two weeks go ahead and try that soda again it wont be as satisfying that time around because your body won't be used to all that sugar. Make sure though you have another drink that you can become dependent on so that you can gradually ease off the soda. It worked for me so try it see how it works for you

  4. Try replacing soda with another drink like life water it is much healthier for you or you could have propel or just water

  5. i stay away from soda by taking my favoured juice and sparkling water and mix them together it taste sooo good try it!!

  6. go to the store and look for the drinks with nothing in them. my mom gets these black cherry sodas that literally have NOTHING in them. no carbs, sugar, anything. its like drinking water.

also, Tava is good. and its not bad for you. just look for something to replace soda. remember that juice isnt alway great for you so be careful what you get.

  7. Substitute flavored seltzer.  It has so sugar, but some are really delicious.  Or drink club soda with a slice of lemon or lime.

  8. Part of the reason you drink is that you are thirsty, but drinking cokes are almost as bad as drinking syurp to quench a thirst.

Therefore, try this. Get a good size stainless steel pan, fill it almost to the brim with cold tap water,  and heat to boiling, stir with a stainless steel spoon, then put in a small tea bag for about a minute. The idea is to make a very weak tea.

Place a lid on it, and let cool, to speed cooling you can put the pan in a larger pan of cold water.

Then refrigerate. Drink a glass of this weak tea, without the sugar before you go for the cokes. You will find you self drinking less coke.

The good thing about boiling the water and letting some of the steam out is that low molecular weight chlorinated hydrocarbons can evaporate out, also the heat kills bacteria and viruses. It also, along with the tea gets rid of chlorine.

  9. DRINK SOME APPLE JUICE AND PRETEND ITZ SODA:d
