How do I fly cheaply?

We are in north west Louisiana and want to fly to vegas for CHEAP!! We have found on expedia roundtrip tickets for 2 people and 3 nights in a hotel for right at $1000. What are the secrets? Ive heard of people flying for next to nothing.

The people you've heard about flying for next to nothing haven't been flying lately.  While airlines were practically giving away seats in 2002 and 2003 to get passengers to fly again, and ran some great promotions the next 3 or 4 years to drive some competitors out of business, with the price of oil and cuts in capacity, the cheap tickets that once were are not there so much.

For cheap fares to Vegas you want to look mid-week and especially on Saturdays.  Saturday nights are going to be more expensive for hotels though.  You can save some money on the hotels by staying off-strip.

For good options on last-minute fares try www.site59.com.  They have package deals based on unsold inventory and can sometimes put together some pretty decent packages.
