call bt on 150 and ask them to add it to ur call plan or you can get it free if u register for privacy

most phones these says have caller id you might have to buy a new phone if you don't have it already. Sorry

I am assuming for a land line....

You have to pay for the caller id feature (unless it is already bundled into your package).  Make sure you purchase the caller ID w/ name and number, not just the caller id w/ number.  You can set this up by calling your phone company.  

Once that is setup, make sure you either have a caller ID box or phone that supports caller ID display.  

You should be good to go.

Call your phone company to get it switched on, providing you handset is compatible and no it isn't free.
