How do I get new passport?

I have an old passport that went out of date in 1997, how do I get a new one?

There are two options-depending on a few personal information. You can either get a new passport or renew your passport (as long as you were 16+ when you received it, the passport itself isn't damaged, your name hasn't changed, and you got the passport within 15 years). There's a on-line form to download and fill out and mail in with some other information for verification. The on-line website/source does a great job explaining it. If you need a completely new passport because your current passport doesn't fit those above 4 circumstances then you can go to a store (post office, Kinkos, etc) and go through the procedure again. Assuming this is in the united states....

All you have to do is go to the post office pick up an application. the application will tell you what you will need to submit along with the application. I know you need some type of ID to identify yourself, passport pictures to send along with your application and the fee (it is varies depending on how quickly you need your passport)!
