I have been playing volleyball for 5 years now, but my verticle doesn't seem to be improving much. I jump rope. Any other ideas?

  1. well your doing the right thing with skipping rope.... try doing squats and lunges... go to a gym and go on an elipcal... if you find some stairs that go up a long way... run up and down them... then jump up them, then jump up them and every2nd stair... then do one footed... umm try walking around on your tippy toes when your at home... i walk on my tippy toes without even relizing it now... good luck on your vert...

  2. Try talking with a personal trainer and stuff. You may want to do squats with med balls, etc. Squats would be the best way to increase the vert. It increased mine.

  3. you know that is so easy....whenever you see a a roof or a high wall or saomething tall............go JUMP as high as you can and try to reach for it with your hands on SPIKING position i assure you this will increase your Jumping rates and direction in spiking! ^__^

  4. you just have to build up the muscles in your legs. lunges and squats would help.

  5. what i do is at my house i practice my aproach and jump as high as i can. i do that everyday and each time i try to get higher and higher.it helps your approach and your jumping.well it helped me i hope it helps you too

  6. I have that problem and I'm the best hitter on my team.  If you're serious about, which i gather from your entry, you should ask your parents if you could get a physical trainer. I have one and so far I've notice improvement and that is within in the first 3-4 sessions!! This is only if you put your all into it.
