  1. I love iced tea too, and make it every other day.  In a gallon jar, put 20 tea bags (I like about 14-15 regular ones, and 6-8 jasmine bags), cover with water, put the lid on and let sit in the sun for hours.  Then refrigerate.  Best tea ever.

  2. Jeez I used to be a big iced tea drinker. I don't remember how I made it but I will tell you what I used. Twining Tea. Loose from the can. I mixed Russian Caravan with China Black. I used more Russian than China but I can't remember the proportions. UMMMMMM Good.

  3. get a gallon pitcher fill half way with water, add 3 trays of ice to it.

    in pan on stove place about 3 -4 cups water, turn heat on high.

    get 7 tea bags ready... when water boils put the teabags in. boil for about 4 minutes, turn off, add sugar/sweetner (see below)

    if you like sugar in your tea, add 1 cup sugar. or 16 splenda, or 7 sweet N low.

    Let me add this.... cold brew tea is instant tea.   20 tea bags will make it so sickening strong that you can not drink it.

    sun tea sucks also. unless it is 104 degrees outside, sun tea will be awful.. no flavor.  I have tried that too.

    I have always made my tea like this for the past 40 years.  so it is a sure fire tea recipe.

  4. Well in the super markets they sell it in a powder that you just add to water. BUT, what you do it boil a big batch of tea and let it sit in the refrigerator to let it cool. Later, serve it in a pitcher with lemon wedges and ice cubes. Enjoy!

  5. Do NOT use instant ice tea.  It's terrible.   The easiest and best way is to buy Lipton's COLD BREW tea bags.  I put 4 pitcher-sized ones into a COLD pitcher of water.  It "brews" in 5 min. on your counter.  You don't get the foam or scum that you'd get if you brewed it first, then iced it......

  6. Hot water in a pitcher with tea bags is all you need.  Leave extra room for ice when you have your tea strong enough ( i usually leave the tea bags in for about 20 minutes).  That's all you need.

  7. he basic method for making iced tea is:

        * Boil water (the amount depends on how much tea you’re making!)

        * Steep tea (loose or bagged, whatever flavor you like)

        * Strain the tea if you used loose leaves, or remove the tea bags.

        * Add sugar to taste. Some people prefer unsweetened, and some people use up to 2 cups of sugar for a 2 quart pitcher. It depends on personal taste.

        * Cool. Some people refrigerate it, others pour it over ice (which also dilutes it a bit), and some people mix it with ice water.

        * Serve and enjoy.
