How do I measure my skateboard?

I have a skateboard that was given to me as a starter board so I can learn to ride but now its time for a new board and I want one that's basically the same how do I measure it?

measure across the middle to tell the width. ex:7.62" 8.25"   for the length, measure from the end of the tail to the end of the nose on the outsides of the board.

LOL Now here's a skater who didn't stay and school. Hung out smoked weed, rode up and down the street on a skateboard and now he's asking how he can measure his skateboard. Think he might know how to measure his skateboard had he stayed in school?

Measure the width of the board at the widest point to give you the size of the board.
