Question:

How do I start a magazine?

I want to start a magazine about politics (conservatism). Do I have to publish and copyright it or do I just pass it out to people? I also want to be able to print and make copies cheaply so I don't have to charge much for it (since I only want to make a small profit so I can pay to make more copies). Should I try to find that paper they make magazines on, or just put it on regular paper?

  1. I'm making a magazine with my friend, and we were considering this stuff too. With the paper, you could just use regular paper, it really doesn't make it any better to have it on magazine paper. If you want to use less ink, you might try to skip background color, or use it only on certain pages. To save paper, you can create your magazine more like a newspaper, and put more things on each page. Personally, I like the newspaper style.

The thing about copyright you were saying, if you directly quote someone elses words, then you should name who said it, but if your writing on your own, then it's your words.

Best of luck with your magazine and I hope I helped :-)
