How do avoid scams in india?

can anyone give tips on avoiding scams in india

my reason for asking is i have heard stories of being ripped off by taxi drivers at airports being forced to buy stuff and in places general dirty tricks.

what is worrying me is i dont want my luggage going missing being robbed or ripped off

Hi, best bet is to have a friend pick you up, or get your hotel to pick you up. Otherwise stop at the prepaid taxi counter before you exit the terminal and pay for a cab to take you where you want to go. These are reliable. WHen dropped off, i would recommend tipping the driver a little.

As with any place, be wary of strangers who come up to you and offer you anything. Best is to stay away from them, ignore them, and if they get aggressive, make a noise or flag down a cop.

Keep ur luggage always in view, and unless you really need it, dont hire a porter to carry your things. if someone tries to distract you and turn you away from your luggage for whatever reason, ignore them.
