  3. by biting on it it your teeth are secured in place and helps them out, i have no clue how it helps prevents concussions but i know it doesn

LOL "i mean it's just a bit of rubber over the teeth"

    naaahh!!!!! u think?

  5. Mouth Guards *** hole !

Protect the teeth and jaw from injury, when you clench down on them you get brace for bigger hit, which stops you being knocked out.

  6. Just as Meeega said,

But to add to that, it's not just a bit of rubber.

The cheap ones are, and they don't work.

If you can't afford a dentist fitted one,

then get either a Shock Doctor Or Canterbury AirGuard

  8. gum shields or mouth guards... as we call them in the states.... help prevent concussions by adding a bit of padding between your upper and lower teeth.  a concussion is sometimes caused by the shock of the bottom jaw slamming into the upper jaw and rattling the skull.  make sure you wear yours and fit it properly.  i know a lot of players that cut it really short and end up leaving their back molars exposed because they gag on the mouth guard.  its not very helpful this way.  it also helps keep you from losing a tooth in impact and biting your own lip/ tongue.  and spring for a slightly more expensive one- 15-20$US because they come with insurance too.  i use shock dr. brand and love it- i've even been able to remold it after a little while to adjust the fit.
