How do i ask my mom!?!?

I already know weird question right, well you see there is this band that my best friends brother is in charge of and well i got asked to sing in it, i really want to but my mom is one of those what is best for your future what will you gain from this type of thing and i cant come up with a good excuse do you know of any? don't want to go up to my mom and be like mom I'm singing in this band, shes my ride.... please help

You could try telling her that you think it'll be an enriching experience that will let you see if you would like entertaining in that way.  It might boost your confidence to face other things if you get the chance.

Just tell your Mom that you have a talent for singing and you want to use it and here is your perfect chance. Tell her it has nothing to do with your career goals and you still plan on going to college, but you would like this opportunity.

Tell her that singing in a band can build self confidence and social skills that can pay off later in a career.  I sang in a band when I was younger. Now I am a high-earning sales executive for a major Media company as an Adult so it really can help you in your future.  Michelle.

Can you first make a list of why you want to do it, why it is important to you. You know, my mom is the same way and I missed out on some great stuff because of it. Figure out how it will benefit you and how you can make it work, Try to think of the objections she will have beforehand, and what you will say to those objections. Sit down with her and let her see how important it is to you, so important you already thought it all through. Stay calm and hear her out too. I think if you too really listen to each other you can come to an understanding. Good luck!

Tell her that you love to sing and want to have the chance to sing for an audience.  That you will keep up your attendance, do your jobs around the house, keep up your grades, follow all the house rules.  Ask her for a 6 week trial (or 4 weeks - whatever is long enough for you to get some practice in and maybe one gig).

You will gain self confidence, learn how to work in a group that has a real goal rather than one made up in a school setting.  If anyone in the group has any training or knows how to read music, you can point that out and say you intend to learn how to read music.  You will learn how to set up a schedule for yourself so you can get everything in.  You promise to get enough sleep, get plenty of exercise and eat properly.  You won't be giving up anything, just adding something that will teach you how to be responsible.
