How do i clean avent nipples?

Question

i turn them inside out. scrub them with the nipple brush and hot water. and yet there's still milk stuck inside. i don't want to boil them because it weakens them. so what else can i do?

I always wash my bottles every morning, but I only use them during the night so the bottles are only dirty for max 12 hours...I use avent as well and have not had a problem with the nipples being dirty

I know with a newborn it is nearly impossible to wash and sterilize the bottles right after each feeding, but the milk really should not be that hard to clean out, so it does seem like you may be waiting a bit too long to at least rinse them out with hot water and then set them aside with hot water soaking in them until a later time when you can properly wash them. That is what I did with my Dr. Browns nipples, and then I would wash them and then boil them. It did not weaken them and I bought new ones when I felt they needed to be replaced due to color distortion.

dont wait too long to clean them...mine are very easy i just use hot water and a nipple brush i dont even turn them inside out...use dish gloves so you can get the water as hot as possible.

I know that a lot of people do boil them. I would try letting them soak in very very hot water, so that it loosens the milk inside, and hopefully when you use the brush, it will come off.

I also have avent bottles, but have never had a problem getting them clean.

edit-- dont let them sit either, when your baby is done, try to rinse them out then so that nothing sticks.

I use Avent also. Try rinsing the bottle out after each use so the milk doesn't dry in the nipple.

I wouldn't turn them inside out to scrub them, just use the nipple brush to clean them.

I can tell you that with use, they will turn a milky color.  The do NOT stay perfectly clear and transparent.

Since you don't want to boil them, I would suggest something like the Avent microwave sterilizer.  The nipples get steamed rather than boiled.  But even if there is some minor amount of milk that isn't getting scraped off (which I doubt), the sterilizer will kill any germs in the milk and the nipples will be fine for use again.

throw them away and get new ones. You are waiting too long to clean them, milk shouldn't be stuck to them like that.
