  1. I do not think you know what 25000 is for and why you need it.    You cannot do anything until you get money.  Land lord needs money -- chances are you will not be able to ge a place to life.   If I was a LL I would not rent to you as a person with a job the very first employer...  Don't show up at the LL office with a dog. --

For not paying the rent they will take you to court and sue for it...

  2. The landlord is likely asking you to have renter's insurance.  That is to protect your belongings, or in case you are liable for starting a fire or otherwise damaging the building or something.  Any agency that has homeowner's insurance should be able to help you find renter's insurance.

  3. That policy costs about $150 A YEAR.   YOu can buy it with your first paycheck.

Your BIGGER problem, is coming up with first, last, and security with no money and no job yet.

  4. You can probably purchase a renters policy for $100 to $200 per year depending on where you live.  The liability portion is cheap, probably only about $25 of the total.  You should get $300,000 or $500,000 liability coverage, I have never seen $25,000 liability - the minimum most companies write is $100,000 (but this normally falls under the minimum premium, meaning you can get $300,000 essentially for free).

You will NOT be able to list the complex as an additional insured on your renters policy.  They have NO interest in your personal liability nor your personal property.  Also, your company will NOT do it, they are asking for a commercial liability on your personal policy, not going to happen.  The complex needs to have their own building & liability policy.

Call the insurance company that has your auto policy, see if they offer renters insurance, if they do, you may be able to save 5%-10% (some offer more) on your auto premium.  Since you are 18 yrs old, this could very well be MORE than the cost for the renters policy.

    Good luck to you.

  5. Your situation is not enviable. If you are going to be renting an apartment you probably don't need insurance, your lease will specify, but you may want renter's insurance to protect your things (furniture, electronics, etc). 25,000 of protection seems like quite a bit much for a small apartment, have you considered looking for a smaller place?

It is indeed difficult to find a job without a residence or to find a residence without a job. I would suggest living with your parents or a relative and paying rent to them until you get a job, then when you're on your feet financially, getting your own place.

  6. What says you need like 25000 insurance?
