How do i fight a wrestler?

ok heres the deal thers this guy im gonna end up fighting i wanted to avoid it but he's just keeps pushing me he's 20 and im 23 he was a wrestler in high school but im a bit bigger than him im 5'11' and 185lbs and he's about 5'9'' and around 170lbs, and i train in mma im not too worried about him but i dont want to take him lightly cuz i know wrestlers are tough dudes but im just wondering what my best defense against a wrestler would be

  1. keep at a distance

    and throw long jabs to keep him back

    dont let him get a hold of you just keep landing shots on the chin and he should drop


  2. You can expect him to clinch. You can also expect him to shoot at your legs. How do you get around this? Be good at keeping distance, and have a good sprawl. Most likely if he's a trained wrestler, and you are just a regular guy, you're done.

  3. Carry a spud bar with you.

  4. First, kick him in the shin. Then, he is all yours.And don't be too worried, wrestlers, like boxers, not necessarily are good street fighters. I know by experience. Lots of it.

  6. keep distance with him and dont let u r legs to be caught by him if this happens u will pay the price. punch him on his head and on his stomach from all u have got.

    try to get him from back of him.

Seems like your advantage would be at either stand up or some sort of submission?  I guess it all depends on how much MMA training you have.  But, of course, people are not one dimensional.  So he may be better at stand up than you think, and you might be better at wrestling or grappling than you think.

  8. As has been said. Wrestlers fear being on their backs the most. From their you can work your ground and pound and jits.  

  9. there is a possiblity that you will win but try learning kung fu or something...or just dont fight with someone younger than you(thats bad!)lol

  10. be aware there is a good chance he wont wrestle other than that a lower center of gravity or a punch itn the haed or a gullotein lock which is the last thing u wanna do may help get superior position

  11. legs.

    if you kick him properly in the same spot his legs would get weaker and a wrestler is mostly built on upper body so the all of his weight would be on his legs wrestlers also need thier legs to pick you up, throw you etc.

    BEING ON THEIR BACKS!!!

  13. sprawl and brawl and if he is to used to sport wrestling he will bang his knees against the ground(if its cement that would hurt).
