How do i start playing rugby?

im a 16years old

i want to start playing rugby but i dont know where i need to start

where do i learn the game and the techniques

and how do i participate in clubs and teams?

Good news- Rugby is an amazing sport to get into. I had never seen a game in my life before I went to college and joined our women's team (go buckeyes :)). The first thing I would suggest doing is scouting out the clubs around your area. Assuming you don't have a high school team, a local club is going to be your best option. Once you find a club, contact the coach, and ask for details! Most likely they will be willing to teach you all the skills and techniques you will need.



Before you go out for the club, you should consider your overall physical conditioning. Make sure you are in good shape! This is important. Any lingering injuries can be compounded very easily in such a physical sport. Its also a good idea to build up your endurance before joining the club, so you can focus the learning what you need to know about the game. Most of the play is very straight forward, something akin to a mix between soccer and football, and you should catch on quickly.

i m too, im from argentina and just we are going to have a game with an england team that sunday.That sport is really for real men it hurt too much,but is beatiful train it i sen thsi message for you dont forget.

The good news is, there are a lot of good teams around.  You should have no trouble finding one in your are, and most of them should be welcoming to new players.

Don't worry about not knowing the game...everyone starts somewhere.  Like others have said, it's a wonderful game and you will have a great time playing.

Edit:  I just read another of your questions and I see that you live in Temple City.  One of my former rugby teammates teaches biology at TCHS (Mr. Randles).  

One team in your area is Arroyo Pacific, a small private school in Arcadia; you don't have to go to school there to play on their team.  Their coach is a good guy, and so are their players.
