turn down a volunteer position? i am interested in volunteering but i'm not getting a good vibe from a place that is interested in me volunteering for them. what do i tell them?

I would say I appreciate your wanting me to volunteer but I have decided to pursue another opportunity

Just say "thank you for the opportunity but I just decided to spend my time doing other things like go back to college or I can't really handle this right now with other responsibilities in my life." If you don't want to call, email them or send them a postcard.
