How do parakeets breathe?

do they breathe very heavily because i know 1 breath for us is 2 for them. so does that mean they breath very fast and heavy or do they breathe very calm.

  1. They usually only breath heavily when they are afraid or nervous. We can inhale a gallon of air in one breath whereas they can only take in tiny bits of air compared to our own breathing.  


  2. They have little holes on their beaks, thats how they breathe.

  3. they have holse on their backsides, i killed my parakeet by covering those holes.

  4. those little holes in their beaks that is their nose and they breath out of that

  5. well most of the time they breath calmly unless decide to fly a lot but if ur keet start to breath heavily a lot u should take it too the vet they might hav some respiratory problem
