How do you Update Itunes? ?

I have bought a new ipod Nano, 3rd generation, about two weeks ago. I go on my Windows XP, on to my page with my itunes, hook it up to load my songs in my library into my Ipod, and it tells me to go to Itunes.com to update. I try to download to newest version, it thanks me for downloading Itunes, but nothing happens to the Itunes. I tried updating it on the first "User" who loaded itunes, but no difference. There is no "Sync" button nor can i press "Sync Ipod" under the file option. What's wrong? Why can't i update it?

The other option to upgrade is to run Apple's Software Update.

After connecting the iPod it should show in the sources on the left, after which File > Sync iPod should work.

There's a troubleshooting list of what you can try: reset, retry, restart, reinstall, restore.

hey..you have to install the new version you just download or open Apple softwware update you go to start all programs and it should appear there or you go where you download the itunes and double clik it...hope ive hleped

Make sure you have any pop up blockers in your browser turned off.
