  1. Find makeup that has lots of shades. Covergirl does but their makeup is a bit cheaply made so you might want to go for Revlon (also nice selection) Loreal true match or MAC of course. :) Revlon also has that new Custom Creations thing that works wonders for matching skin tones.

Figure out whether you are warm, neutral or cool toned. Cool is pinky toned, warm is yellowy, and neutral is pinky-yellow. If its too complicated on your own, go to a makeup consultant at the drugstore or at makeup kiosks in like Sears and ask them to colour match your foundation/concealer for you. I like Revlon Color Stay for foundation because its nice and matte and long lasting, also Loreal true match (as said above :)) and Covergirl Tru Blend Whipped Foundation. To apply, I recommend you use a foundation brush (you can buy them in a drugstore) and not a sponge. Sponges make foundation cakey and soak up half your product. Brushes achieve an even beautiful look.

For powder foundation, go for loose mineral powder with a brush. Powders that arent mineral have things like talc in them which arent great for your skin. Try Bare Escentuals Mineral Makeup, or for a cheaper option you can go with Loreal Bare Mineral Makeup, or Physicians Formula. If youre interested in natural makeup you can go with Organics (also made by Physicians Formula) Loose Powder (really nice on your skin) and for sale at like any drugstore or Walmart.

Anyways, hope that helped! Dont be afraid to try all sorts of different types of products (mousses, liquid and powder foundation) until you find the one that is right for you!

  2. there are 5 basic steps for a flawless make up.

    1. clean you skin and apply moistening cream and make sure it dries completely.

    2. apply a concealer that is the exact shade of your skin,( if you didn't know what to buy, try on a couple on you hand if it  then its the color for you) blend it all over well. if you have any spots the concealer usually covers it but if you have red spots on your cheeks then try a light blue or green   on the shade of your skin. you can use this for the under eye as well if there are dark patches.

    3. Apply foundation cream, again the same shade of the concealer to avoid diffirence in appearance, then finish it up with loose powder again of the same shade of the foundation.

    4. startapplyingng eye makeup by applying a light color over the eyelid  and the blend in the darker shade of the color from the corner of the eye to up. after which apply the eye liner, if its in the morning apply a thin line on the top and bottom to give your eyes a bright and open look, if at night make the line darker and make the shadow a little darker. Apply mascara in the end after curlying them.

    5. Finally apply blush to the apple of your cheeks and draw your lips with a pencil the same shade as your lip and apply the lipstick you prefer, at a night outing just add on a little colorless gloss on the middle of the lip to show volume and shine.

  4. Here are some tips:

#1 try blending the two shades! Use a lighter coat if it's still to light and/or dark.

#2 put on concealer after the foundation. That works best!

#3 try going to a make-up professional (like one at Macy's) and they'll help you find the perfect shade.

#4 try doing a different brand of make-up. There are several different brands who have better (and more) shades to choose from. Just start at your nearest Rite Aid!

#5 try putting the foundation only where you really need it (like on your flaws). Sometimes doing it all over your face looks bad no matter what.

#6 if you look washed on, usually most shades do that. Try wearing blush to brighten up your tone!

  5. I understand your dilemma! Get the lightest foundation you can find and apply it lightly so it looks natural. Add blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara and you'll look stunning!

  6. The key here, is to either change product range, as you will find a foundation to match your tone by doing this and/or blend two foundation colors together.

You may find that by applying the foundation using a brush, after 4 brush strokes, you find the color, does match. If it takes more than five brush strokes, it is for sure the wrong color.

Do not apply concealer until after you have applied foundation, 2. reasons. 1. A foundation will do a great job concealing and 2. you will as a result use less concealer and breathe more comfortably.

Also, try to use a primer before applying foundation, as this will also help your skin breathe.

When you come to the rest of your make up make sure you are using colors which work with your skin tone.
