  1. Start with 0. For any card between 2 and 5, add 1. For every card 10-A, subtract 1. For cards 6-9, don't add or subtract. The basic theory is that every card between 2-5 helps the dealer, while cards 10-A help the player. Therefore, the more 2-5's are out, the better the deck is towards the dealer. The more 10-A's are available, the better the deck is for the player.

So, as you are counting, if your number gets to 10 or 20, the deck is hugely biased toward the player. If the count is -5 or -10, it's hugely biased towards the dealer.

My personal results: it doesn't work. Out of say 10 7 deck deals or around 1k hands, the count will hit +10 maybe one-two times. I've never seen it over +12. Usually, it will vary very steadily from -5 to +5. Also, even if the deck is favored towards the player, that doesn't mean the player will always win.

  2. It's actually cards 2 through to 6 (not 5) that are +1. 7-9 = 0 and 10-A = -1

  3. the first is wrong,

    2-6 is add 1

    7,8,9 is 0

    10-Ace is minus one

The more 10-aces in the deck the better for YOU.

The more 2-6 the better for the house or dealer.

No wonder the first guy said it does not work for him.

    LOL!
