I want to put up some corrugated plastic sheet roofing, but cannot find any the size I need-so I am going to have to buy large and cut it down to size. Thing is I have been told it is very difficult to cut without splitting it. Anybody know any tips/tricks that will help me do this please?

  1. very fine tooth bladed saw,u could use jig-saw but take it carefully, let the saw do the work, dont push to hard it may snag.

  2. You can use snips to cut it

  3. any of the above just make sure the sheet don't judder make sure its on a flat surface.

  4. looks like there are a lot of ways to do it.

I've cut similar product with a masonry blade in a circular saw.

It's quick, effective, no spliting, some scorching along the cut.

Face and eye protection are a must.

    Good luck.

  5. I found the easiest way was to use an angle grinder with a metal cutting wheel in it . I cut ten sheets this way only a week ago, make sure you wear eye protection when you do it and the sheets are on a good flat surface.

  6. Cut with a hand saw with fine blade. Make sure it is properly  and fully supported and go gently, being careful where you put your own weight on the job.

  7. Jigsaw - with plastic cutting blade.

Only reason it splits is because people tend to try and cut it with a hand saw and it judders - which causes it to split.

Another way is to score it with a sharp Stanley knife on both sides and then cut with a saw.

I have never had a sheet of this stuff split or crack on me when cutting - because I use the right cutting blade.
