How do you get air surfing?

ive been tryin and i just stay on the wave on look like a r****d

well sometimes given a large enough wave, it is possible. its the speed necessary to get air obviously and the bigger the wave the more speed u have. i get air off of usually 4-5 foot face waves, but not with the board... with closeout i simply jump right at the white wash, after i come back up the face of the wave,  and get about 6 feet of air before i splash down behind the wave.
