How do you pick thyme?

i have some, and i haven't picked any yet..and so i was just wondering how you pick it!

do you pick just the leaves or the whole vine??

Cut the "vine", then strip the leaves off with your fingers, or pluck them off.  Leave a little of the vine or branch, and it should keep growing.
