How do you plant a topiary?

I have a 2 foot wire rabbit I want to plant ivy or something growing all over it. Does it need dirt inside, moss? What do you do?

1 st stuff with long-fibered Sphagnum moss. In order to allow you to reach in and stuff the frame, the wires are usually too far apart to hold in all the moss. One of the easiest ways to keep the moss in place is to use nylon fishing line. Begin stuffing the frame

with handfuls of damp moss, packing it tightly so that the moss tries to come out through all the openings. As you get an area stuffed, wrap the fishing line around the frame over and over to hold the moss in place. Continue working, stuffing and wrapping until the frame is filled. The best plants to grow on a stuffed frame are creeping fig (Ficus repens) or ivies (Hedera helix) with small leaves. Try to find plants that are growing in a very small container, but have long runners. Remove them from the pot and gently rinse off most of the soil. Select several spots in the lower half of the main body of the frame. With your fingers, work an opening in the side that will allow you gently to insert the root system of the plant. Cover the opening you created with pieces of damp moss held in place by old fashioned hair pins or greening pins . Pin the tendrils of the plants in place over the frame.
