Question:

How do you plant strawberrys?

-.- Been wanting to plant some but dont know how do i just make a little whole and put the hole thing in there or what.lol

  1. You don't really want to put the seeds in holes as they are so small.  I usually plant them in a pot so I can keep an eye on them.  I "scratch" the top layer of soil and sprinkle on the seeds.  Then I gently rub soil around so they are somewhat covered.  Keep them moist and they'll go from there.  I like to use hanging baskets.  I usually get a nice strawberry patch the next year on the ground under the spot I had my hanging basket on.


  2. Order your plants in the fall to arrive for early spring planting. Be sure to select disease resistant varieties. If possible, prepare the soil in the fall, incorporating a good amount of organic material. Strawberries like a rich soil and adequate fertilizer. They should be planted where they will receive as much sun as possible and sheltered from high winds.

  3. Hey did you know they sell strawberry pots? They are funky looking pots that are big but they have side pockets for planting them. Stay with plant not seed. They grow fairly easily just make sure to keep them watered regularly.
