i sometimes have bit of a lisp and i was just wondering when you say s, where do you put your tongue

  1. If your tongue is touching your teeth then you have a lisp.

    Your tongue has to be almost not touching your front teeth.


  2. My tongue doesn't really go anywhere, but the tip just BARELY touches the top of my mouth, and the "s" sound is usually spoken through the teeth rather than the tongue.

  3. The sides of the tongue should form a seal along the inside of the top teeth. The tip should be behind the incisors (top front, middle teeth), but not touching them. There needs to be a furrow down the tongue from the back of the mouth to the tip of the tongue.

    The easiest way to produce a good "s" or "z" is to repeat "tttttttttt" (not "tuh, tuh, tuh") really fast. You'll be amazed at how quickly it will become a proper "s".
