  1. honestly dats jst cruel for a 7 yr child to go through wait till da kid is 12 atleast.

  2. i don't have kids, so I don't really know.  but can suggest some ideas inshallah from experince with other kids.

first explain roughly about what's special about ramadaan.  so if someone asks her what is ramadaan, she can briefly explain to them.

I don't know how it works in your area, but often at my masjid they declare the news of ramadan after isha prayer or sometimes maghrib prayer(since the moon has already been sighted else where).  so being in the masjid, specially if there is a friend or two of the child can be exciting.

writing "happy ramadaan", "ramadaan kareem" etc. and coloring it, and posting it may be outside the door, or fridge or wall can create an excitement (specially b4 ramadaan starts)... which u already did i think u said.

she can also make little greeting cards to give to people she loves.

if she's being good, you can have something special at iftar table everyday, or every other day, weekend and the like.

for kids going to the masjid for prayer can be exciting unless very tired.

if she is interested, you can teach her little bits of qur'an or about islam every morning --- this would give a different schedule for her when its ramadaan.  and ofcourse do not push at this tender age, as prophet didn't until after 7 yrs or so.

also you can help her with the practice of giving charity.  may be involve her to help you with something, or in the masjid if you go, or give her something which she can share or give.

most of all, be extra nice to her.  they surely learn more from examples in the family and that is more precious to them that they feel you love and care about them, and haven't forgotten about them due to work load.  and they love to do things with the parents and siblings, or family in general, such as celebrating ramadaan and eid in ways they enjoy.

that's all i can quickly think of right now and will let you know if anything else.  all the best to you and her inshallah.  may you have a blessed ramadaan, ameen.

    wa aleikis salaam wa rahmatullah

  3. introduce them into the fast slowly, they don't need to fully fast until they are around 12. introduce them at seven by not having treats, such as sweets or chocolate during the ramadan, also don't give them fizzy drinks. as the years go on, slowly drop down the foods they eat until they are fully fasting.

  4. i dont have a clue sorry ♥

  5. first tell him what ramdan is about and what are the good points in fasting ten ask him to fast for a day so he know how it feels to fast

and u only give a gift on eid

  6. well when i was 7 ramadan was in december, so i kept my fast on the weekends not on weekdays. I think they ill struggle cause of the time.

  7. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Thanks for your important question, and we earnestly implore Allah from the depth of our hearts to give us the chance to complete the month of Sha`ban and reach the month of Ramadan, in order to receive Allah's blessings and rewards.

With the approach of the month of Ramadan, the Muslim is supposed to start a new leaf with Allah, his fellow human beings as well as all his surroundings. On this new leaf, he should first declare sincere repentance from all sins committed in order for him to be eligible for Allah's reward in the blessed month of Ramadan.

Let us keep praying Almighty Allah to bless us in the month of Sha`ban and give us the chance to fast the month of Ramadan. For better preparation for the holy month of Ramadan,

    1. Keep praying daily that Allah gives us the chance and grants us good health that will enable us to fast the holy month.

    2. Start repenting and seeking the forgiveness of the Almighty for all our wrongdoings before Ramadan.

    3. Seek the strength from Allah to fast in the way that He likes and wants.

    4. Seek forgiveness from all members of your family, workmates, neighbors, and relatives for any wrongdoing against them.

    5. Refrain from backbiting, slandering, and unlawful mixing with people.

    6. Clean your heart and soul from envy, jealousy, hypocrisy, arrogance, and all heart diseases.

    7. Seek the blessings of your parents, if they are alive, and their forgiveness for your shortcomings towards them.

    8. Increase your du`aa' and commitment to your daily duties and obligations.

  8. When I was young we would fast till zuhr prayer and feel like we had accomplished a big deal as we grew older the fasting time extended, we were also given sweets at the table which encouraged us a lot (we couldn't wait till time came for the sweets). I remember enjoying Ramadan so much because it was the only whole month where the whole family would gather for a meal.

As for the praying my mum would pray tarweeh at home and me and my sister would wear our praying clothes that were made especially to fit us.

This year I'm planning on explaining to my kids how Ramadan is a month for worshiping Allah and gaining thawab ..I might try to omit breakfast or reduce their shares although I don't know if my heart is going to help me my kids are so skinny.

Subhan Allah Ramadan has something special in it even without your explaining your child will notice the difference.

  9. I have 4 children, 8, 7 3 and 2.

The 8 and 7 year old will fast the weekends or at least half day that is what they did last ramadan, they fasted until noon or later, then had iftar with us:)

InshaAllaah this year I will let my 8 yr old son  fast a full day if he can handle it the hours are longer so he will be free to break his fast when he wants to.

They are extremely excited about Ramadan, they have to do posters for school, they attend Islamic school so we are working on that this weekend.

Gifts are given on Eid day only and they get to go to the museum park on that day and eat out InshaAllaah, they will also attend taraweh InshaAllaah for the last ten days or at least the weekends InshaAllaah Ta'ala. We have to do everything we can do to get our children into the spirit of Ramadan and let them practice fasting if they wish and in fact encourage them to practice fasting and doing good deeds. You could let your child collect money, quarters, dimes etc and tell him/her to put them in the masjid's sadaqah box when you go for taraweh. Letting them know how important it is to give sadaqah to the poor and the needy during this month.

  10. u dont have to prepare him for anything ..

he still so young , but if he likes to fast , it's his choice..

    always love and peace..
